At times, it has felt like 2019 has passed in a blink so at the end of the year I like to take the time to reflect and think about the years events.

I’ve continued to work hard on my blog which I started back in 2016 and this year I bought the .com domain so you can now reach me at both freyawilcox.co.uk and freyawilcox.com! Exciting stuff. Balancing this blog with a full time job and a social life can be hard work at the best of times and frankly impossible at the worst of times but I’ve had a brand new blog post going live each week, with a few bonus blog posts too; a total of 54 blog posts have published this year. That’s more than 50,000 words and in April, I celebrated publishing my 100th blog post. I didn’t realise that I had so much to say!
2019 has been an exciting year of travel for me; I wrote a ‘live’ blog post about my visit to Thailand where I live blogged the whole holiday, updating my blog each day with my adventures. I spent three days in Bangkok, two days in Chiang Mai and ended the trip in Krabi. I also had weekend breaks in both Berlin and Istanbul and I even managed to sneak in a short visit to Venice, my favourite place in the whole world, so it’s been a busy year for travel. I think 2020 will be much quieter on the travel front.
It’s now been four years that I’ve lived in London and although I love to get out and explore as often as I can, there’s still lots to do. A highlight this year was visiting the Christian Dior exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum in May, followed by the incredible Pret-a-portea afternoon tea at The Berkeley hotel which was Dior themed. I’ve been to a few afternoon teas in London over the years and this one went straight to the top. Last year, I published My London Restaurant Hit List but it’s continued to expand much faster than I can tick places off!
I’ll finish by asking you to sign up to receive email updates if you’re a regular reader. You can do this right at the bottom of my homepage and I promise I won’t spam you – you’ll receive an email once a week when a new post goes live so you can stay up to date with what I’m up to. A huge thanks to those of you who keep coming back to read my little corner of the internet. Your support means the world to me.
What’s been your highlight for 2019?
