I’m always on the lookout for new places to go for brunch and Caravan has always been in the background but I’d never been until one Sunday when I spontaneously popped in and luckily managed to get a table.
When we arrived we joined the queue outside the restaurant so I’d recommend booking in advance, especially if there are more than two of you because it’s clearly a popular brunch spot. There are a few caravan restaurants dotted across the country and I visited the one at Bankside which is just down the road from London Bridge in South London.

Caravan – What We Ordered
I ordered a latte to start and my boyfriend ordered a smoothie (£6) containing berries, acai, chia Powder, coconut Milk and banana so you can tell which one is the healthy one out of the two of us!
Now I usually choose smashed avocado or pancakes when I’m out for brush but this time I opted for something completely different – I ordered the vege fry (£12.50) which is obviously meatless and comes with two eggs cooked to your preference (I chose fried eggs), slow roast tomatoes, roasted mushrooms, grilled halloumi and smashed avocado. I actually don’t really eat tomatoes so I asked for it to come without tomatoes and the waitress asked me if I wanted to swap it with anything else so I cheekily asked for extra halloumi and when it arrived I had two giant slabs of halloumi -they defiantly weren’t stingy and it was absolutely delicious. One of my new favourite places for brunch.
My boyfriend ordered the Caravan Fry (£12.50) which is more of a classic full English which comes with two eggs cooked to your preference (he chose poached eggs), slices of thick cut bacon, pork sausages, slow roast tomatoes and roasted mushrooms. We swapped about a little bit so I gave him some of my halloumi and avocado and he shared some meat so we got the best of both worlds.
I also tend to judge a place by the condition of it’s bathroom and I really loved the exfoliating Aesop hand wash that they have next to the sinks, so much so that I went out and bought it!
Caravan – 4/5
I really loved the food here and would happily go back and I’d even reorder the vege fry again. I was thoroughly impressed with the food and I loved the vibes inside.
