I love pancakes, especially dutch pancakes but there aren’t many places in London to get them so I was excited to go to My Old Dutch in Holborn to get a proper pancake experience!

My Old Dutch – What We Ordered
To start, we both ordered milkshakes (Kinder Bueno and Oreo) while a very friendly waitress explained the menu to us; there are three different types of pancakes available to choose from with an insane variety of toppings. There are the classic pancakes which are very thin and absolutely huge. Secondly, there are American style pancakes which are smaller and thicker and finally they also served Poffertjes, which are tiny, fluffy little pancakes.
The choice of toppings was huge – they had a massive selection of savoury pancakes but I chose a build your own style pancake and opted for a classic dutch style pancake with mozzerella cheese and ham which was so delicious, although admittedly it wasn’t presented brilliantly. I’ve always been more of a savoury girl than sweet. I did have intentions of ordered a second pancake so I could try a sweet one (read: greedy) but I couldn’t even finish my first. The pancakes were bigger than a pizza, they were absolutely huge!
My friend Pippa chose a sweet pancake with banana and Nutella which definitely looked prettier than the two.
After a while, the taste can get a bit “samey”, so it might be better to share, so you can try different flavours.
