The Royal Wedding is officially less than a week away and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you must be living under a rock! I am of course, talking about the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who will get married on Saturday, 19th May at Windsor Castle.
I haven’t been this excited for a wedding since the last Royal Wedding and while we don’t have a day off this time around (it was a bank holiday in the UK when Prince William married Kate Middleton), I’m excited to be having a little tea party while I watch the Royal Wedding on TV. Last time around, back in 2011, my mum and I kicked off the day with champagne and bacon rolls to settle in for a day of Royal Wedding, TV watching and this year will be no different.
The Royal Wedding Tea Party:
Champagne or Prosecco is a must, to celebrate and it’ll be the last big Royal Wedding that many of us will see, until Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis get married. Keep the bubbles flowing throughout the day, to toast the bride and groom, I know I will be!
You can’t beat the classic sausage roll which is a staple at any tea party so you can guarantee that I’ll be stuffing my face with these mini ones all day. I like to heat them up and serve them fresh from the oven.
Quiche is one of my favourite tea party, picnic style foods and you can either serve it warm or cold.
Finally, a tea party isn’t complete without scones, cream and jam and while I won’t get into the debate of cream on top versus jam on top, these will finish the afternoon off perfectly.
Add some Union Jack bunting to decorate and a London theme, and you’re good to go!
How will you be celebrating the Royal Wedding?
