I’ve been using the Pixi Glow Tonic by Pixi Beauty for almost a year now and it turned into one of >> my 2017 favourites << but it’s only when it ran out (sob) that I went online to purchase a new bottle and started browsing the other products available.
I bought three glow products from Pixi Beauty which all contain glycolic acid, one of my favourites when it comes to skincare. For those of you who don’t know, glycolic acid is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) which means that your skin will be very sensitive to sunlight so wearing an SPF is ESSENTIAL when using these products.
If you don’t use much acid products in your routine, start out by using it every other day initially, until your skin gets used to it. If your skin is particularly sensitive, you might only use acid products every other day.
Glow Tonic: this product is easily Pixi’s most well known product. It contains 5% glycolic acid and exfoliates the skin giving a brighter look and feel to the skin without being drying. I love the fresh, floral scent to this glow tonic as I’ve found other acid toners to be quite overpowering when it comes to the smell.
I use this every day as part of my morning skincare routine and soak a cotton pad before wiping it all over my face. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my skin after using this, but I notice that my skin looks more dull if I haven’t used it!
The Glow Tonic costs £18 for 250ml.
Overnight Glow Serum: I’ve read quite a few reviews about this product so I was very keen to try this. Again, this product contains glycolic acid, making it a great exfoliator and you’ll wake up with brighter, radiant skin. The serum contains a higher percentage of glycolic acid than the glow tonic so if you have sensitive skin or don’t use acid products, I’d recommend that you introduce this serum slowly into your routine.
I use this every other night in my nighttime skincare routine (as recommended) after cleansing and put three drops on my fingers before massaging into my skin. It absorbs really quickly and isn’t too sticky (like some serums can be) but its a bit thicker than other serums I’ve tried. It comes in a small glass bottle with a dropper but because of the thick consistency, it isn’t the easiest to apply.
It makes my skin feel super soft when I wake up and I love how glowy it makes my skin look in the morning. It creates a perfect base for my makeup. After a few weeks of usage, I can definitely see an improvement in the clarity of my skin. The Overnight Glow Serum costs £26 for 30ml.
Glow Peel Pads: the lazy girl in me was super excited to try these out. They’re ready made, good-to-go pads that are soaked with 20% glycolic acid so they’re the strongest out of these three products. They exfoliate and brighten the complexion but also help to reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines.
I think these are particularly great for travelling because you can just throw them in your bag and there’s no need to pack a big bottle of product. The difference with these from the glow tonic and the overnight glow serum is that you swipe the pad across your skin and leave for 2 – 3 minutes, then wash off any remaining product. I alternate between these and the overnight glow serum as part of my evening routine at the moment. The Glow Peel Pads cost £24 for 60 pads.
Have you tried anything from Pixi? What would you recommend I try next?
