I wanted to share some of the products I’ve been using this summer as part of my skincare routine and am blown away by the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop. The range includes a wide variety of products including moisturisers, body butters and cleansing products but the three items I’m loving are the face mist, serum-in-oil and skin defence SPF 50.
Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mist
I’ve been using the Clinique moisture surge face spray for a while now which I love but at £22 for a 125ml bottle, it’s quite expensive so I was looking for a cheaper alternative for everyday use when I found the Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mist (£10). This mist is really hydrating and is perfect for a quick moisture boost or for an on-the-go spritz. You can also use it to set your makeup so it stays in place all day. I’ve also heard of friends who use it to dampen makeup brushes before applying eyeshadow for increased pigmentation. The scent of rosewater is really light and not overpowering at all. I’ve been using it at lunchtime to rejuvenate my makeup when its looking a little tired at midday.
Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil
I’ve been looking for a facial oil for a while and instantly fell in love with this one. My skin is quite dry so I apply this as part of my evening skincare routine and wake up with refreshed, super soft skin. I follow up with moisturiser in the morning. The oil is lightweight and non greasy and suitable for all skin types.
It comes in a simple screw top glass bottle with a dropper- you only need a few drops so the bottle lasts quite a while. I use a couple drops and warm them on my fingers before applying on my face – the oil absorbs really quickly too so you’re not going to bed with a greasy face. I sometimes give my face a spritz of the Vitamin E hydrating face mist too for extra moisture if my skin is feeling particularly dry.
At £16, I think this is quite good value considering some of the other serums on the market.
Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence SPF 50
This product isn’t part of the Vitamin E range but I wanted to give it a special mention. I apply this after my moisturiser to my skin as part of my morning routine in the summer. It’s a really light, milk-to-water formula which is non greasy and has a UVA Protection rating of PA++++.
This is my favourite product out of all three of these. I think it should be a staple in everyones summer skincare routine! It’s also a great alternative to the Laura Mercier Face Shield SPF 40 moisturiser and it’s much cheaper at £16.
