Not long ago I went to the SkyGarden for a spot of breakfast and instantly fell in love! The views are breathtaking and it’s completely free to visit.
The SkyGarden is a beautiful public garden, on the 35th floor of 20 Fenchurch Street in the City of London. You might also recognise the building as the ‘walkie-talkie building’. To enter, you go through airport-style security but when you leave the lift, you’ll be blown away by the views of London. There are a variety of eateries at the top where you can have dinner, a cheeky cocktail or breakfast.
Visiting the SkyGarden:
We visited the Sky Pod bar for breakfast where we’d reserved a table by the window. A selection of pastries, coffees and juice were ordered which we followed with a nice walk around the garden (prices were reasonable considering the location). Sights that you can see include Canary Wharf (distantly), Tower Bridge, the Shard, the Gherkin and St Pauls Cathedral.
It would be nice to go back at a different time of day to see it in a different light. I can imagine that cocktails at sunset would make a really great date.
I’d definitely recommend this if you are visiting London as it offers amazing views where you can see so many of London’s sights from the sky.
Have you been to the SkyGarden before? What did you think?
